We bought a teether from a shop at KKH (in a soft toy design - rabbit) for Siang sometime back. My whole idea was to stimulate his senses (touch and feel) using the softness of it.
IT work! these 2 days, he would bring the rabbit with him to bed. He told me a lot of happenings (in the school) and his thoughts using the rabbit to narrate.
A scenerio : (siang let the rabbit sit down) he say, please do not split out the food and chew okie (probbably that was what happen in school).
B Scenerio : "nicholas cry" (he hold the rabbit hand and rub the rabbit hand). I ask why? Siang reply : Nicholas throat pain pain...
The rabbit name is : LOVE Siang would actually say "Mama, I want to bring LOVE to bed". Which i agree with yes, we shall do that.

this is interesting... whats the rationale behind it (that having a soft toy wil make him talke more?)? my gal also not talking leh,,.

I read somewhere (sorry my memory is very short). for kid who do not have siblings (even for those who have) it would be good to give them a toy (for my case, i opt for this simple but very gentle rabbit - who i named LOVE as the rabbit nose is in a love shape) so that if the kid have any matter that they are unable to narrate, they will use this "toy" as a middle person and narrage the matters in a simple manner to the parents.
For me, i do not use this rabbit as a means for him to talk more but more as a comfort thing for him to bring to bed :) and yes also a tools to let him comfortably speak up all issue with me.
Oh, when he is older i will gradually wind him out of this because by then he would be mature enough to speak up :)
really? if no siblings will do this? or maybe siang is just an affectionate boy? afterall, his rabbit is named LOVE. ;)

hmm he is still young so, i have yet to know if he is affectionate or not but i am building affection/care around him (by naming his rabbit as LOVE). I hope its a good start.
I spot the rabbit little love shaped nose and decide this is the one that i am looking for and bought it hehe (without 2nd thoughts)

its not because siang have yet to have any siblings so i bought this rabbit. i just thought. give him the feel of having something that carries care/affection :). But i remember reading somewhere abt the 'toy' part..
this rabbit is siang's best friend now! hee
