Review with ENT Centre

This Morning we went to see the ENT Doctor who is incharge of siang. He brief us on the test results conducted yesterday at the ENT clinic. siang hearing level remains unchanged. again, it is stressed that with hearing aids, he should be progressing well.

Highlighted was that, he needs to wear the hearing aids. that is the major issue.

The doctor also told us of the possibility for us to send siang to cannosian school. It is a school for those children who have hearing impairment but who vocalised. The doctor is of the opinion (as with the speech therapist) that maybe if siang go to the school, he see other kids wearing the hearing aids, he will be ok to put it on too and also, the school would be able to guide him well (as they are equiped with the right environment of teaching for hearing impaired kids).

OK must prompted him more to wear hearing aids...that is about all he needs. Project in progress with effect from tonight

As for sending him to school, we told the doctor not yet as our plan is to send siang for schooling when he is around 2.5 years old (ie when he is more ready)

This afternoon we brought siang for his speech and audiologist review. I am glad that the speech therapist that was seeing siang is back at work (she was on maternity).

We had a one hour session of speech theraphy with her. she is concern that siang seem to be not wearing the hearing aids as much often as he should be.

after that we went on with the audio test. the results remains unchanged. siang hearing level remains from moderate to severe. But one thing for sure, with hearing aids, his right ear can hear up to very very soft level of sounds.

I think we need to work hard to let him wear more of the hearing aids. Siang have come so far... just a little bit of hard work to make him wear his hearing aids...
